IE8 Slow to apply Internet Explorer Branding at logon

I upgraded my Xenapp 4.5 Server from Internet Explorer 6 to Internet Explorer 8. After this install user logons lingered on "Applying Internet Explorer Branding" for around 20 seconds. This step normally took under 1 second.

The quick resolution was to grab an old version of the iedkcs32.dll file.
I grabbed this from one of my older IE6 servers and replaced it in the DLL Cache and in
C:\windows\system32 on the IE8 server.

This resolved the slow logon issue, though i have no idea what impact this will now have on IE.
I raised a MS support call for this and was told a fix is being looked into. (Aug 2009)

Articles on the internet advise to upgrade the ADM template to the new one provided with Internet Explorer 8.
I tried this but with no luck.

Getting the IE8 ADM file was also painful, I downloaded the IEAK but this seemed to only contain a INETREST.ADM which i think is a sort of template for the IEAK wizard to use.

To download the IE8 ADM Template file
Run the IE8 setup installer. (it will extract the install files to C:\xxx)
browse this location and grab the INETRES.ADM file
