Disappearing Applications in Citrix

Applications which do not perform standard windows calls may have issues like the following

  • App does not show at all (though the process is showing in taskmgr)
  • App Disappears when you minimise it (eg. Does not show on taskbar)


To correct these problems there are some Seamless Exception Registry Flags that can be modified to try and resolve this. These reside under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Citrix/wfshell/TWI

These may be set either Globally eg. Effects all application on server, or these may be set per application in which case you need to know the WindowClassName. This can be gained with the Window History tool from Citrix/SPY++ Application or Winspector which is freeware utility available from the utils section on this page.
