Windows Explorer size and position settings not saved
I had a problem where users Windows explorer settings like Window size and position reverted back to default on every launch.
The problem was due to the fact we had the following group policy setting in place.
User Configuration\Admin Templates\Desktop
"Do Not Save Settings on Exit"
If enabled this policy prevents window size and positions being saved.
Note : The explorer views/size and position information is stored in the Shell and ShellNoRoam key, see separate article on thinworld.net for more information on how this section of the registry works.
