Jinitiator 1.3 Disable Cache or Change Cache file location

In a terminal services environment it might be best not to use the Oracle JInitiator Cache function if you redirect your Appdata or profile directories.

If you store the cache files on network storage then the benefits of caching will be lost as you are still performing network I/O to get the files.

The Jinitiator cache settings are controlled through the Control panel but if you want to centrally manage these settings for users do so with the following file.

File
%userprofile%\.jinit\propertiesxxxx (where xxxxx is your java version)

Inside this file the following parameters can be used to control the Cache function and storage location.

jarcache.disabled=true - This will disable Caching
jarcache.directory=c\:\\temp - This will change the caching directory
